These few months have been filled with little and big milestones. Leah is crawling super fast and she's pulling herself up without any help. Her new favorite thing to do is to take things out of Ah-ma's huge purse (or containers, boxes, wallets, whatever she can get into). She takes things out and examines it with great curiosity. Everything is so new to her! What's great, also, is Leah can put things back with a little assistance from me.
Leah likes to offer her toys, binkie, and food to us. She'll pick something up, look at you, then extend her hand out as if saying, "here have what's mine." Such a generous little baby!
On several occasions, she's even tried to shove her binkie into our mouths (and with success). It's actually quite sweet.
We've been signing with Leah since she was 4 months and I can see our work paying off. Leah signed "up" at 6 months, but it was more like she was imitating what we were doing. She really didn't start signing as a way to communicate until she was 7.5 months and it was for milk. She can sign: milk, more, up, baby, and change diaper really well, and she uses the signs in the right context. It's been a lot of fun watching her sign and communicate with us.
She still only has 2 tiny teeth on the bottom, so I'm very careful about what I feed her.
Here are some pictures of Leah on her 10 month birthday.
