Mamatoto

When Leah was around 3 months old, we started going to a mother's group called Mamatoto. It's a great word. It's Swahili and means "Mother Baby Unit", as in ONE unit. The meaning of Mamatoto should give you an idea of what our group is about. We're a bunch of moms who believe in attachment parenting. Our emphasis is on nursing, strenghthening the mother-baby bond, and encouraging closeness & connection over separateness & independence

On March 26, Leah and I hosted a group meeting at our house. We had a guest speaker come to talk about homeopathic, natural medicines for babies. It was a great turnout.

All the babies immediately gravitated to these nursing beads.

Leah's friend, Alannah.
