Happy 8 Months!

Here is Leah at 8 months old! Where has the time gone? Seriously? I mean she's only 4 months away from being 1.

Leah's personality is really coming through. She's definitely an observer of everything around her. She has a cute little way of tilting her head to look at things, and she furrows her brows like she's really concentrating. She loves looking at people and animals. She's shy at first... clinging to mommy. But she opens up quickly and will give you the biggest smile.

Here she is with her favorite binkie. We've tried giving her other binkies but she only wants the Soothies brand.
At 8 months, Leah still doesn't have teeth. Hey, I don't mind. I think teeth changes the way a baby looks. They look less like babies.
She can't crawl yet, but she's slowing getting the idea. She can lift her butt and sort of inch-worm across the floor. Daddy likes to use Puffs as motivation.
She has great hand-eye coordination. She's really good at picking things up, even the smallest objects. Leah's definitely got the pincer-grasp mastered.
And she can be quite a ham for the camera.
I'm really impressed with my little girl. She's accomplished so much in her 8 months of life. These are some other things that Leah is doing:

- Waves hi and good-bye. The cutest thing ever, by the way!
- She's very vocal in the morning. She says mama, baba, dada and mmm. I swear she knows mama is me and she's referring to me when she says it! Leah only wants me to put her down at night and when Tom tries to do it, she'll start crying and say "mama"! Breaks my heart!
- She can clap her hands. Actually she's clapping her fists together.Leah still doesn't understand that you have to open your hands.
- She can pick up an object in each hand and bang them together.
- She squeals and screams like she's auditioning for American Idol.
- She can turn the pages in the book we read together.
- She imitates us. If we lift our arms up, Leah lifts her arms up too.
- She's eating solids (which should be a whole other blog) and not picky at all. Thank goodness!

I love her with my whole heart and every day that goes by, I am completely thankful for the gift that she is.
